After the death of his parents, Lewis Barnavelt (Owen Vaccaro) is sent to Michigan to live with his uncle Jonathan (Jack Black). His uncle is warlock who owns the world of magic and sorcery. One secret, his uncle kept from Lewis was, the house was previously owned by another wicked warlock Isaac Izard (Kyle MacLachlan). He created a clock using black magic which will result in end of the world. He dies before he can finish the clock and hide it somewhere in the mansion. Lewis and his uncle must find the clock before it gets into the hands of wife of Isaac name Salena (Renée Elise Goldsberry).
